November 21, 2022
KALAMAZOO, MI — Urban Alliance announced it will begin searching for its next executive director later this year with Chris Pompey stepping down from the position in early 2023.
The organization is looking for a leader with a deep passion for service as well as a thorough understanding of Urban Alliance’s service and impact on the Kalamazoo community, according to a press release.
“Chris faithfully led the organization, helping to navigate through the pandemic and the many challenges those within our neighborhoods faced,” Urban Alliance Board President Terra Bautista said. “He departs on the best of terms, and we wish him well as he focuses full-time on his passion of expanding addiction and recovery services in Kalamazoo.”
Pompey, who previously served as the organization’s director of prevention, was executive director for nearly two years.
As the search begins, senior leadership will continue its initiatives focused on combating gun violence, youth intervention, workforce development and providing support services to those experiencing substance abuse issues, homelessness and other populations.
